Don Benito's water service installs a magnetic loop in offices to boost inclusive attention

The installation of this device is one of the measures contemplated in the project of Sustainable Development 'Don Benito 2020'

Aquanex, the City Council of Don Benito and the Extremadura Federation of Hearing Impaired Parents and Friends of the Deaf (FEDAPAS), inaugurated this morning the magnetic loop installed in the offices of the municipal water service of the city, with the purpose of making the customer service to people with hearing impairment.

It is a sound device installed in one of the customer service stations that transforms the audio signal into a magnetic field captured by the headphones of the ‘T’ position. In this way, the magnetic field will be transformed into sound within the ears of the users, who will be able to listen to all the information provided by Aquanex staff in a clear way, without ambient noise and perfectly intelligible. The device was installed by the Special Audiosigno Employment Center, attached to FEDAPAS.

The inauguration event was held today at the offices of Aquanex in Don Benito and was attended by the mayor of the city, José Luis Quintana; the General Director of Accessibility of the Board of Extremadura, María Ángeles López Amado; FEDAPAS Vice President Fernanda Escobar; Aquanex manager José Luis Billón and the head of the Aquanex Clients area, Dionisio Gázquez.

This initiative is framed within the Sustainable Development Plan of the municipal water service of the city, called ‘Don Benito 2020’. The City of Don Benito and Aquanex jointly promote this plan that has three strategic axes: Planet, People and City. Within the 'City' axis, there is a line of work focused on promoting inclusive attention to all citizens and that is why we are betting on various projects such as the one presented this morning, which turns the municipal water service into a referent of accessible and inclusive care for all people.
